Incidences of "contractor death" has been a hot topic in Germany and neighboring countries for years. Defying the trend, KSW Austria ventured into Germany. Our interview with the German branch manager Andreas Gebauer provides a look behind the scenes of the company from Feldkirch in Vorarlberg.

service station: When KSW took the decision to conquer the German market in 2014, the signs here were pointing to a storm. Due to the extensive WHG refurbishments, combined with major conversions in previous years, demand for service station construction and maintenance had nosedived and contractors' service prices had fallen to an unprecedented low. Today, an improvement is perhaps in sight, albeit as light at the end of the tunnel. Was your move out of the fiercely competitive market in Austria a flight of fancy?
