About us

hyCLEANER GmbH & Co KG is a young, dynamically growing family business based in Gronau, Westphalia, Germany. The mechanical engineering company specializes in the development and manufacture of semi-automatic cleaning machines for surface care in the glass, façade and solar sectors. We supply our innovative, high-quality machine technology around the globe.
In addition to our own machine technology, our hyCLEANER® systems product category makes us the system provider for surface cleaning and the technical cleaning of building envelopes.

We operate in an up-and-coming, forward-looking industry and make an active contribution to preventing climate change with our products. Building on our many years of experience in the mechanical cleaning of surfaces such as glass and facades, our robots are at the forefront of the solar industry for the efficiency optimization of renewable energy generation.

OUR HISTORY

2010

Foundation of TG hyLIFT GmbH

The company was founded in 2010 by Andreas Grochowiak and Alfons Thihatmer. Their many years of experience in the development and manufacture of work platforms gave them the idea for the hyCLEANER. "Safely transporting people upwards" - that is the credo in the world of work platforms. Especially in roof and façade cleaning, the risks of accidents are manifold and must be minimized. This gave rise to the idea of a cleaning robot that is safely controlled from the work platform and cleans the unsafe terrain instead of people.

2012

The first glass roof cleaning machine: hyCLEANER Blue Evo

An idea became reality and 2012 marked the birth of the first glass roof cleaning robot: hyCLEANER Blue Evo. The machine not only makes cleaning safer, but also much more efficient than manual cleaning. The machine is controlled by radio control from the work basket via the surfaces. A few development stages later, the machine became the GLASS ROOF and is now the glassROBOT.
2013

Launch of the facade cleaning machines: red EVO I - III (today's facadeBRUSH series)

Building on the world of work platforms, the hyCLEANER team developed the next product idea: a large rotating brush in front of a work platform to revolutionize façade cleaning. This was no easy task, as working at height with a work platform presents a wide range of challenges. Over the next few years, three variants of the machine were developed to meet the requirements of different façades. In 2014, a variant was also developed to facilitate the cleaning of wind turbines.

2015

Co-creation with a pilot customer for solar cleaning: Birth of Black Solar

What do solar panels and glass roofs have in common when it comes to cleaning requirements? In both cases, the cleaning machine moves on a glass surface. In response to customer requests, the company developed the specifications for the glass cleaning machine further and launched the first "Black solar" solar cleaning machine, which later evolved into the SOLAR Facelift.
2017

Special cleaning machine: Berlin Spandau, DE

As a specialist in the development of cleaning machines, the former TG hyLIFT GmbH also develops and builds special machines for individual customers. Prestigious projects such as the Berlin Spandau railroad station are among them. The technical challenges of a railroad station were addressed here, with the entire cleaning process having to be carried out purely mechanically using water pressure in order to clean the curved roof efficiently and safely at regular intervals.

2018

Complete solutions for the cleaner: Power Station

From the very beginning, the company has placed the customer at the center of its activities. It is also important to pay attention to the needs of customers and to complete solutions for them. The team is therefore always on the lookout for merchandise that is tailored to the customer's needs as a complete solution. In 2019, the first fully equipped van was sold, which, in addition to the SOLAR Facelift solar cleaning robot, also offered an osmosis system for water treatment. Today, this is also supplemented by hand brush systems and offered as the hyCLEANER system - the customer always decides what they need as a complete solution.
2021

The PV ground-mounted and roof-mounted system specialist: solarROBOT pro

The hyCLEANER is characterized by its innovative strength. This is also reflected in the continuous further development of existing products. With the solarROBOT pro, the solar cleaning machine was completely rethought: as a modular system with innovative functions that make work even easier for the operator. This created the basis for the series and still has some unique selling points on the market today.

2022

Special cleaning machine: Geneva Airport, CH

The Geneva airport in Switzerland is another prestigious project for hyCLEANER in the field of special machine construction. The special geometry of the terminal makes cleaning by hand almost impossible. A cleaning brush was therefore developed that adapts to the limited space between the glass façade and sun protection and the challenging structural requirements. Here too, cleaning is carried out purely with water and without chemicals

hyCLEANER repositions itself: Sales & start of series production

Global efforts to achieve climate targets and efforts to conserve resources are bringing about enormous changes - especially in energy generation. For the hyCLEANER team, this is exactly the right time to move from individual to series production. Michael Pfeiffer comes on board as a new shareholder and Chairman of the Advisory Board, and Celina Kneiber (née Pfeiffer) and Josha Kneiber join Andreas Grochowiak in the management team. Alfons Thihatmer takes his well-deserved retirement.
