Gronau - Pollen settles onto the modules, birds leave droppings, chimney soot also settles - not nice for owners of photovoltaic systems. Because the dirt impairs the electricity yields. Which means, less sunlight reaches the modules as a result. Even though they have a high self-cleaning capacity - a heavy downpour usually loosens the worst of the dirt - a
cleaning can be useful. Especially if the angle of inclination of the mounted modules is less than 20 percent and therefore the self-cleaning effect works only to a limited extent.
The Gronau municipal utility offers PV system owners the opportunity to clean their system themselves with the "hyCLEANER®-Mobil", using osmosis water. The cleaning system is mounted on a trailer. The Gronau-based company "TG hyLIFT" developed the system.
