Arnhem station is an important hub for various regional and long-distance trains in Holland and to Germany. The station was opened in 1845 and in the course of increasing passenger numbers, the railroad infrastructure was extensively renewed from 1996 onwards and was able to be put into full operation on November 19, 2015. On this day
the station also received the addition "Centraal", the Dutch equivalent of the German "Haupt" station. With its curved roof structure and unusual building shape, Arnhem station is a real eye-catcher! Over 65,000 people pass through the place every day. The area of the four platform canopies alone is 8700 square meters. Each of these canopies has a length of about 210 meters and different widths of 9 and 14 meters. The roofs are bright with large skylights and create a positive atmosphere on the platforms. Materials used: steel, aluminum and cold-formed glass.
