Between 2007 and 2010, the Dutch Ministry of Finance in The Hague was extensively renovated and redesigned. The "glass" building now covers a total area of 66,000 m². A large interior garden was covered with a steel structure and sun-resistant insulating glass.
The building is exposed to constant environmental stresses and is constantly soiled by exhaust fumes, weathering and plant growth - in addition, there is countless localized soiling caused by bird droppings on the atrium roof. This contains aggressive acids and can attack the building materials. Only regular removal of dirt can prevent permanent damage to the fabric of the building.
The company from The Hague entrusted with the cleaning of the atrium roof was looking for a semi-automatic cleaning system to remove dirt from the heavily soiled glass roof easily, safely and economically. They found what they were looking for at TG hyLIFT GmbH from Gronau in North Rhine-Westphalia.
